Government/school/parental sponsored psychological visits.
Some of the psychologists working through this site
are already engaged in this type of work. The
advantage for the sponsoring government/school/parent is that a fully trained educational
psychologist will visit. The psychologist will have engaged in regular in
service training to keep their skills up to date. They will be visiting
schools in the UK on a daily basis to assess children and liaise with parents,
teachers and local government officers. They will be engaging in soft
systems work aimed at developing teacher and parenting skills, often by the
delivery of training. They will be involved in the development of whole
school approaches via liaison with senior management within the school and local
government. Their skills are therefore sharp and extend well beyond
clinical work. Further advice can be accessed via e-mail, telephone
or conventional mail for any children seen or discussed during the visit at no
extra charge.
The visiting psychologist will hold full professional indemnity insurance. They will be a member of the British Psychological Society, probably the Division of Child and Educational Psychologists and hold Chartered status as an educational psychologist. Due to the fact that they are employed in Local Authority work they will have been police checked.
