Confidentiality:  All and any information provided as part of the consultation process or in any dealings you have with any of the Educational Psychologists or specialist teachers will be treated as totally confidential.  This includes your e mail address.  You are welcome to provide yourself or your child with a reference name should you choose not to provide actual names.  You do not need to inform us that you have done this.  

Duty of Care:  All the professionals working through this site fully and without any reservation accept a duty of care with respect to the advice offered.  Advice will be offered in accordance with the information available at the time.

Costs:  Advice via e mail is provided on a no fee basis.   If you wish to contact a  listed psychologist with respect to individual assessment they will let you know their costs upon you making contact with them.  If you use one of our psychologists it helps run this site.  

How does the site pay for itself: This site has an Angel.  It also has founding partners and it is this group that will ensure the bills are paid, that advice is provided in the summer holidays and at Christmas.  The psychologists contribute a small percentage of their fee to the site for each assessment they get via the site.  There are a group of dedicated psychologists who provide their skills to the e mail advice service because they believe it helps promote psychology, and they are nice people.

Qualifications and Experience:  All the Educational Psychologists working through this site will be fully qualified, with respect to UK psychologists they will hold a teaching degree and have taught for a minimum of two years.  They will hold a degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Educational Psychology.  In addition to this most will be working for a Local Education Authority in the UK as an Educational Psychologist and will therefore have been police checked.    All the psychologists  have developed a special interest and specialist skills in one or more areas of special educational needs.  All the psychologists working through this site will hold appropriate professional memberships, such as the British Psychological Society or the equivalent for the country in which they live and practice.   Some will have provided consultancy services to education authorities/governments outside the UK.  Some  have provided consultancy to the Ministry of Defense in  schools outside the UK.  All will have a minimum of 10 years experience as practicing educational psychologists.  The teachers working through this site will hold a teaching qualification usually a degree.  In addition to this they will have an additional qualification in a particular area of special educational needs.  They will be vastly experienced and recognized by the psychologists working through this site as superb practitioners.  When you are first contacted you will be made aware of the credentials of the psychologist or teacher whichever you have chosen to work with.
