We offer a clinical assessment with our in house EP in Wadeson Street Dyslexia centre.    The fixed fee assessment provides an affordable assessment for parents who are concerned about possible underachievement, or are concerned that specific learning difficulties such as Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia may be affecting academic performance. This is a through assessment but does not include a school visit with observations.  This is not an assessment that is suitable for complex legal or tribunal cases.

Fixed Fee Assessment:

Fee £300: If you come to Wadeson Street Dyslexia Centre.  Home visit: By negotiation.

Comprehensive educational assessment mainly using restricted tests only available to users with high level qualifications.

  • Preliminary discussion and background information gathering.

  • Taking of  developmental history

  • Handwriting assessment under a number of different stresses.

  • Scotopic Sensitivity screening (coloured overlays) 
  • Reading assessment

  • Spelling  assessment

  • Reading comprehension assessment.

  • Assessement of phonological processing.

  • Reading speed measured
  • Full psychometric assessment using Wechsler Test appropriate to age (WPPSI, WISC, WAIS).   Identification of areas of specific weakness and strength.  Identification of specific learning difficulties or general learning difficulties

  • Post assessment analysis with parents or adult client. 

  • Formulation of ways forward and intervention plan.

  • Recommendations discussed and explained re: Disabled Student Allowance (DSA) included in final report to facilitate application for this grant, if applicable.

  • Examination concessions discussed and included in final report if appropriate.

  • Full and comprehensive typed report e mailed within 10 days for initial agreement.

  • Hard copy of report signed and delivered by first class post.

  • Back up telephone advice.
